A young resident of Wormley & Turnford was delighted to recently be awarded a grant by WTBL to help develop her business.
Kacey Williams was looking for work when just for fun, she did a 10 week cake decorating course at Herts Regional College. She enjoyed it so much that she decided to take her career in that direction and after doing an apprenticeship, set up Kacey’s Cakes with her mother, Tara in late 2015.
In 2016, with the help of WENTA, a local enterprise agency which supports fledgling businesses, Kacey prepared a business plan. She then successfully applied to the Wormley & Turnford Big Local (WTBL) Ideas & Enterprise Grant Fund to further develop her start up and website: www.kaceyscakes.co.uk
It’s fantastic to see the money helping local people realise their dreams and generate employment in the area, and we are looking forward to sampling Kacey’s hard work at our Big Lunch community event on 12th June!
Any resident of Wormley & Turnford over the age of 16 can apply to the Grant fund - find the application form here or call 07903 390 649 or drop in to the Hub at 39 High Road, Wormley for a chat
