Do you want to find out about local volunteering opportunities?

Do you want to meet various community groups and charities?

Do you want to be part of a national event which empowers residents and their communities?

Do you want to learn new skills and meet new people?

The aim of the project is to mark the National Volunteers’ Week which each year takes place at the beginning of June. More about the National Volunteering Week - https://volunteersweek.org/

This initiative provides an opportunity to celebrate volunteering and demonstrates how volunteering impacts positively our society. Our event would be also a meaningful and effective way to reach out to some of the local families and identify local ‘Community Leaders/ Champions’. The ‘Wormley and Turnford Volunteering Fair’, led by Wormley and Turnford Big Local in partnership with High Tree Children Centre and Hertford Regional College, will also provide a platform for local organisation and voluntary organisation to promote their training and volunteering opportunities.

The event will finally help the organisers to build a platform for "community activism"

We hope that by organising this event, we will be able to:

  • Better promote local learning, training and volunteering opportunities

  • Enhanced engagement of local families, residents and all those attending Wormley and Turnford Volunteering Fair

  • Strengthen partnership working

  • Empower individuals and  help to build their confidence and self-esteem.

  • Put residents at the heart of civic activism.

Want to reach out to potential volunteers? Download the stall holders booking form. Deadline to confirm your attendance and send back your application is Thursday, 23 May.
